What materials do you need for this beef roast rub?

This beef roast rub is so simple to make that you really don’t need any materials!

The only thing you may need is a small mason jar or spice jar to store the mix if you plan to make more than one batch at a time.

I use mason jars as they are relatively cheap and look uniform in my spice drawer. Feel free to use whatever container you like!

The roast rub recipe

The ingredients for this roast seasoning are very simple and straightforward. They include a blend of salt, sugar and seasonings to create a smoky sweet seasoning mix. Here is the recipe.

1 tbsp paprika (can be smoked or regular)

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp chilli powder (you can half this amount if you want a less smoky flavour)

1.5 tbsp salt

1 tbsp onion powder

1.5 tbsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp pepper

To make it, all you need to do is combine all of the ingredients into a container or jar, shake it up and rub it all over your roast.

You can let it sit overnight in the fridge to marinate but I do not and it still turns out amazing.

Place your seasoned roast in your slow cooker and turn it on to low for 6-8 hours. Slice up your meat and enjoy!

What else could I use this seasoning mix for?

This seasoning mix is so versatile! You could use it as a rub for chicken, pork or beef on the barbecue or as a seasoning mix for pulled meat.

You could add this mix to some mayo for a seasoned mayo dip or drizzle. Honestly I use this seasoning mix in almost every savoury recipe I make!
