Like so many origin stories, mine began when I became a mom. I was filled with love for my baby bundle of joy but something was different. My baby had horrible, painful, itchy, raw eczema. My love bug would scratch until they were bleeding, covered in deep cracks that simply wouldn’t heal. 

I took my baby to every dermatologist and doctor I could think of but no one was able to help us deal with these horribly painful spots. We got prescribed lotion after lotion, filled with ingredients like alcohol only to find intense pain with the burning and stinging. Steroids did nothing but scare me (have you seen steroid withdrawal videos?!)

It was time to say enough. I turned to handmade lotions. I made creation after creation with all the butters and oils you could think of and nothing worked. Finally after years of searching, I discovered tallow. I bought suet from the store, rendered it down, added some oil and whipped it up. The minute I tried it, I was hooked. The feel was velvety smooth and deeply hydrating. My own dry skin healed within days but what is most impressive? The deep cracks and open wounds on my child healed within a few weeks. 

I was worried there would be stinging and tears as there had been so many times before. Nothing happened. We began to call the cream ” miracle cream” and the kids would run for it the minute they had any dry skin, scrapes or owies. 

We expanded to bath care (have you seen the long list of ingredients in kids bath wash?!) which allowed them their own bar of soap that was gentle on the skin, not burning any open wounds while cleaning their body and hair.
