Why should you make this bouillon?

This recipe along with my other seasoning mix recipes (more on that below) are so lovely because they only take a handful of materials and they are ready in under 5 minutes. That means you can whip up a seasoning blend whenever you need it.

These recipes are also perfect for gifting and I have had many a person thank me for including these seasoning blends into their gift baskets. It is such a personalized (and delicious!) way to show someone you care about them.

I like to make one of these mixes and gift them all of the ingredients they might need to make the meal.

For this chicken bouillon, I would gift them my chicken rice in a jar with rotisserie style chicken and a side salad or something along those lines. The chicken rice recipe is included in the free ebook down below.

What materials do you need to make this chicken bouillon?

Luckily for this recipe, you only need a small handful of materials.

~To start, you will need a food processor or other method to blend all of the ingredients together. I love this food processor because it is also an immersion blender and a high speed whisk! I am very into space saving and multiple uses for single appliances.

~Next, you will need an air tight container to store the bouillon powder. I like to use mason jars as they are cheap, easy and look so cute in your spice shelf!

~Finally, these baking tags are so amazing and keep everything in your spice rack organized and looking great. It also allows you to make the recipe again as soon as you are out. You can download this bouillon recipe as well as 5 rice mixes using the free download below.

The chicken bouillon recipe

  • 1 cup of nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp onion powder
  • 3 tbsp dried oregano
  • 3 tbsp dried basil
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1/2-1 tbsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp celery seed (optional)

How to make the bouillon powder

Combine all of the ingredients into your food processor and blitz it until fully combined. Transfer it into an airtight container (a canning funnel makes this step simple) and add your baking tag. It is really that easy! Store it in a cool dry place and enjoy!

How to use the chicken bouillon

This bouillon powder makes quite a few servings as you only need 1 tbsp of powder for every cup of water. All you need to do is whisk the powder into 1 cup of warm water and use pretty soon after. This will not store well after it is mixed.

You can use this as a stock whenever a recipe calls for it or you can add this bouillon as a flavour boost. I use this powder in so many recipes such as spaghetti, in my chicken rice, and most of my other dinner recipes.
