Q: What is Tallow?
A: Tallow is made from rendering beef fat. It creates a soothing butter type product that glides on effortlessly.
Q: Is tallow good for my skin?
A: It really is! Tallow very closely resembles our skins natural sebum which is the oil that our skin naturally creates. Tallow is also rich in vitamins A, D, E, K and omega 3.
Q: Does it smell “beefy”?
A: Not at all! There is a slight earthy aroma when it is first rendered down but when added with our other oils, you’d never be able to tell that it came from a cow. We triple filter our Tallow in house to ensure the purest tallow with limited scent.
Q: Why does my skin feel so different with your products?
A: When switching from traditional skin products which can be drying and heavily fragranced, your skin and hair may go through a transition period where it is learning to be skin again. This means you could feel a bit more oily than normal or even feel a bit more dry (you don’t have synthetic products on you tricking your skin into a false sense of hydration which can lead to a feeling of dryness.) Once your skin realizes it is supposed to be maintaining its own oil levels, the dryness should go away.
Q: Can I use your products on broken skin such as cracks, eczema or rashes?
A: Yes! This is one of the main reasons I started making our own skin care!! Every single cream I tried on my children would burn them when their skin was in an eczema flare. They would cry and scream and I felt horrible! Some of the creams would make them itchier which is the exact opposite of what I wanted for my babies!! Everyone who tried the lotions and body bars love it and say it has never burned them.
It is still always a good idea to try a test patch first and go with the “Naked” options (scent and colour free.)
Q: Are these products safe for kids?
A: Yes!! We choose to use essential oils that are safe for all ages but to be on the safe side, choose our “naked” option which is scent and colour free. Always apply a test patch first to ensure compatibility with your skin. (We are confident it will be :))
